The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete construction works for the Mariner, Dunes and Blanc Apartments development, a premium residential project on Wellington's iconic waterfront.
Designed to present as three individual apartment buildings along Oriental Parade, the development was constructed as an integrated complex incorporating two levels of underground car parking beneath the site. Our scope included the construction of reinforced concrete perimeter basement walls, foundations, and the structural concrete framework supporting the development.
The buildings incorporated three separate reinforced concrete core shear wall systems extending through to Level 5, providing the primary structural stability and seismic resistance for the apartment complex. The combination of basement construction, multiple structural cores, and the prominent waterfront location required careful planning and execution throughout the project.
