The Brief
Wellington Studwelders delivered the ComFlor flooring installation and stud welding package as part of the seismic strengthening of the PWC Building. Our scope involved the installation of a ComFlor 210 floor system to the Level 7 podium, replacing the existing interspan flooring as part of a significant structural upgrade. The strengthening works incorporated large structural steel braces beneath the new floor system, with Wallace completing the installation and welding of more than 2,000 shear studs to create a fully integrated composite floor structure.
A key challenge of the project was delivering the works within a live operational car park and occupied commercial building, requiring careful planning and sequencing to minimise disruption to building users while maintaining programme and safety requirements.
